“The Celestine” – Two New Luxury Hotels to Open in Kyoto and Tokyo
Two new luxury hotels will open in Japan's modern and ancient capitals, offering visitors the chance to sight-see in luxurious, traditional Japanese surroundings. Special additions such as maiko performance stages, and their fantastic locations, make these hotels stand out from the usual crowd.
Mitsui Fudosan Group will launch two new hotels under the brand name “The Celestine Hotels” in autumn 2017, as part of their wider plans to open 10,000 new hotel rooms in Japan by 2020.
The first hotel, Hotel The Celestine Kyoto Gion, will open on 7th September, whilst Hotel The Celestine Ginza will open its doors on 5th October.
The group aims for these hotels to be ‘destination-style hotels’, where ‘the hotel itself becomes a purpose of travel’. The distinctly Japanese style of these hotels will offer visitors to Japan the chance to luxuriate in Japan’s ancient (Kyoto) and modern capital (Tokyo) whilst appreciating elements of traditional Japanese craft and culture.
Hotel The Celestine Kyoto Gion
Located in the heart of the Higashiyama district of Kyoto, home to Gion, Kiyomizu-dera and the Kamo River, Hotel The Celestine Kyoto Gion rests in a prime location facing Yasaka Doori avenue. The hotel’s design is based around a modern re-working of traditional Japanese themes, with concept rooms named ‘Higashiyama’ and ‘Yasaka’ complete with sliding ‘washi’ paper screens. There will be a natural hot spring on site offering guests the chance to soak away any aches and strains at the end of each day. The restaurant, Endo Yasaka, will offer a unique menu for guests, as well as an eye-catching stage for maiko (geisha) performances.
Room rates for a superior double start at 22,100 yen (£152) per night including taxes and fees.
Reservations can be made online on the hotel's website now: www.celestinehotels.jp/eng/kyoto-gion/.
Hotel The Celestine Ginza
Located in central Ginza – a shopping haven in Tokyo home to department stores such as the recently opened GINZA SIX – the hotel offers private, elegant accommodation amongst the bustling backdrop of the city. The Casita restaurants will open a location on the top floor of the hotel – their first branch in Ginza.
Rooms rates for a superior double start at 17,940 (£123) per night including taxes and fees.
Reservations can be made online on the hotel's website now: www.celestinehotels.jp/eng/ginza/.
Both hotels will offer free Wi-Fi throughout.
