Japan Airlines (JAL) is set to launch a new direct morning flight each way between London and Tokyo starting from 29th October, 2017.

The new service will operate between Tokyo’s Haneda (HND) and London’s Heathrow (LHR) airports. The outward flight will depart from LHR at 9:30am and arrive at HND the following day at 6:25am, while the return flight will depart from HND at 2:45am and arrive at LHR later the same day at 6:25am.

With the addition of the new daily nonstop service, JAL will operate a total of four flights daily to and from Japan together with its partner airline British Airways (BA). The addition will greatly enhance choice for customers, as both outbound and inbound flights offer completely different departure and arrival timings to those of JAL’s existing services between the two countries.

The new morning flights will offer the earliest arrival times in both directions, providing customers with improved connection opportunities in the Tokyo direction and increased options for those travelling to London and beyond. The favourable departure and arrival times will allow customers to access a greater choice of connecting flights at both ends of the journey, enabling smoother, more convenient travel connections.

With the outward flight to Tokyo arriving early in the morning, customers can enjoy a full day on the first day of their stay in Japan. Meanwhile, with the return flight leaving after midnight and arriving later the same day in the early morning, customers can maximize their time with full days of activities both the day before their flight and the day of their arrival.

The new service will be operated on JAL’s well-received JAL SKY SUITE configured aircraft, supplying both business and leisure customers with superior levels of convenience and comfort. The aircraft will offer three levels of accommodation: Business, Premium Economy and Economy. In Economy, JAL Kitchen Gallery will offer a range of delicious dishes, while Business Class customers will be able to choose from JAL BEDD Sky Auberge, JAL’s exclusive restaurant in the sky, and LHR LON-DON, a Japanese kaisendon (fresh fish on a bed of seasoned Japanese rice).

There will also be extra perks available for customers using the return flight from Tokyo to London. JAL will offer passengers light meals in its Sakura Lounge at Haneda Airport, as well as unique inflight services to help create a peaceful, relaxing environment conducive to sleep on the overnight flight. Passengers will also be able to relax and wind down before boarding the plane for their night-flight by taking advantage of complimentary access to the baths at hot spring facility ‘Natural Hot Spring Heiwajima’, located near Haneda Airport (until end of March 2018).

Reservations and ticket sales for the new services begin on 14th July, 2017, valid for flights from 29th October, 2017. For more information about the new services, please visit JAL’s website.
