Japan Airlines (JAL) is set to launch a new direct morning flight each way between London and Tokyo starting from 29th October, 2017.

The new flight will run between Tokyo’s Haneda and London’s Heathrow airports. The outward flight will leave from London Heathrow at 9:30am and arrive at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport the following day at 6:25am, while the return flight will leave from Haneda at 2:45am and arrive at Heathrow later the same day at 6:25am.

With the addition of the new daily nonstop service, JAL will operate a total of four flights daily to and from Japan together with its partner airline British Airways (BA). The new flight will greatly enhance choice for travellers to Japan, as both outbound and inbound flights offer completely different departure and arrival timings to those of JAL’s current services between the two countries.

The new morning flights will offer the earliest arrival times in both directions, providing travellers in the Tokyo direction with more options for connections as well as more choices for those travelling to London and beyond. The handy departure and arrival times will allow customers to access more connecting flights at both ends of their journey, enabling smoother, more convenient connections.

The outward flight to Tokyo arrives early in the morning, meaning visitors can enjoy a full day on the first day of their stay in Japan. Meanwhile, the return flight leaves after midnight and arrives later the same day in the early morning, meaning they can maximize their time with full days of activities both the day before their flight and the day of their arrival.

The new flight will be operated on JAL’s well-liked JAL SKY SUITE aircraft, offering both business and leisure customers improved levels of convenience and comfort. The aircraft will offer three levels of accommodation: Business, Premium Economy and Economy.

In Economy, JAL Kitchen Gallery will offer a range of delicious dishes, while Business Class customers will be able to choose from JAL BEDD Sky Auberge, JAL’s exclusive restaurant in the sky, and LHR LON-DON, a Japanese kaisendon (fresh fish on a bed of seasoned Japanese rice).

There will also be extra perks available for customers using the return flight from Tokyo to London. JAL will offer passengers light meals in its Sakura Lounge at Haneda Airport, as well as unique inflight services to help create a peaceful, relaxing environment on the nighttime flight.

Passengers will also be able to relax and wind down before boarding the plane for their night-flight, with complimentary access to the baths at hot spring facility ‘Natural Hot Spring Heiwajima’, near Haneda Airport (until end of March 2018).

Reservations and ticket sales for the new flights begin on 14th July, 2017, valid for flights from 29th October, 2017. For more information about the new flights, please visit JAL’s website.
