sushi bus

We have a pair of tickets to give away to a lucky See Japan reader for the capital's hottest new dining experience - a sushi and gin feast on board a tour of London's best sights!

Japanese soul food fix - check. Refreshing alcoholic accompaniment - check. Tried and tested British transport - check. All your wildest dreams are coming true this August, with the launch of an exclusive new Sushi & Gin Bus Tour of London brought to you by Brigit’s Bakery, specialising in afternoon tea with a French twist, and Hayman’s, the award-winning original English gin makers. See some of London’s best landmarks in style this summer as you travel the streets of the capital on a traditional red double-decker bus while feasting on sushi and gin cocktails.

The bus tour’s bespoke sushi menu has been created by B Bakery’s Head Pastry Chefs Thibault Denis and Mathieu Tempette in partnership  with renowned Japanese chef and culinary consultant, Gohei Kishi. Chef Gohei has worked in top-class restaurants, including Michelin-starred eateries, in Paris, London, Madrid, Dubai and Japan, and is famous for his fusion of Japanese culinary techniques with a modern French approach.

Featuring a blend of light and refreshing summery flavours such as seafood, avocado, yuzu and jasmine - not to mention strawberry, that quintessential British summer fruit - this menu is set to cure your sushi cravings as well as bring a burst of sensational summer flavours to your mouth:

Feast your eyes on some of London’s most famous sights while you feast the rest of you on a three-course Japanese meal served with plentiful gin cocktails. The summer menu is accompanied by not one, not two, but three Hayman’s Gin cocktails with a Japanese twist. The setting for all this magic will be one of just a handful of two- or four-person tables (six upstairs, four downstairs) in a mobile dining room - a specially-adapted classic Routemaster bus as it tours the sights of central London.

If you can tear your eyes away from the fantastic feast spread before you for long enough, you’ll be able to spot some of the top landmarks in London from the windows of the bus. The tour departs from Grosvenor Square in Mayfair and visits South Kensington, Notting Hill, Piccadilly, the Royal Albert Hall, Trafalgar Square, the London Eye, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace on a circular route.

One thing’s for sure - despite their famous easy “hop on, hop off” boarding system, once you’ve boarded this particular Routemaster you won’t want to get off until the party is well and truly over, with every last crumb of sushi hoovered up and every last drop of gin drained!

Brigit’s Bakery is offering the chance for one lucky reader and their friend to enjoy dinner on the gin and sushi bus this August. To enter, all you need to do is email giveaways@jnto.co.uk telling us who you’d take with you on this gastronomic Japanese adventure!
