Meet Japan Travel and Food Experts at Destinations

The Destinations Holiday and Travel Show takes place from today until Sunday, at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London. This is the largest travel show in the UK for customers looking for inspirational travel ideas.

Visit the show for Japanese cooking demonstrations, sake tasting, presentations about Japan by travel experts and to consult with Japan specialists about your holiday plans.

Taste the World
Tantalise your taste buds with global food and drink. Watch masters at work demonstrate their skills and take up the rare opportunity to sample international treats on one stage, including celebrity chefs.

Japan – Now, more than ever before

No other country in the world can offer so many unique experiences. This talk will introduce you to the main locations of Kyoto, Tokyo, Hakone and Hiroshima.

Michael Jay is in a unique position to explain the classical warrior culture of Japan being the only non-Japanese person to hold a samurai rank since William Adams who, in 1600, became an adviser to Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Michael Jay will be dressed in a traditional Samurai uniform and will explain some of the special sights and experiences related to the era of the Samurai including those featured in Into Japan’s ‘Footsteps of the Samurai’ Tour. Click here for more information.

Maddy Rodell from specialist tour operator InsideJapan Tours, will be giving an inspirational overview to Japan. This insightful presentation will take you beyond the bright lights of the Tokyo Metropolis, presenting a country that is more than neon, futuristic buildings and sushi. The Japan experts will reveal traditional villages, towering mountains and hot spring towns, wildlife and wilderness in the northern island of Hokkaido and the sub tropical beaches and jungle in the southern Okinawan islands.
